Chris Sutton has said on BBC Radio 5 Live that he cannot believe that Marcelo Bielsa has been linked with a move back to Leeds United.

The former Chelsea striker does not think that hiring Bielsa would be a good idea for Leeds.

Bielsa was sacked by Leeds last season, and he was replaced by Jesse Marsch.

And the Premier League club got rid of Marsch this week.

Bielsa is a Leeds legend and fans love him, but BBC Sport pundit Sutton, who has slammed Leeds striker Patrick Bamford for his comments after the match against Nottingham Forest, does not think that the Argentine would be a good managerial appointment now.

There have been rumours about Bielsa coming back to Leeds, although The Daily Star have claimed that the Argentine is not on the club’s shortlist.

Chris Sutton on Marcelo Bielsa to Leeds United speculation

Sutton said, as transcribed by TBR: “They seem to have panicked.

“It’s interesting that there has been a clear out of the whole staff. So they must… I would be shocked if they didn’t know who was coming in. That must be already done, I think.

“I saw rumours, you have to be careful what you look at on social media, of the possibility of Bielsa returning. Surely that’s not going to happen?”

Unlikely to happen

We do not think that Leeds United and Marcelo Bielsa will have a reunion now.

Both sides have reportedly moved on.

Now, we know how much Bielsa loves Leeds and how much the fans adore him.

However, it does not seem likely now that the West Yorkshire club will turn to the Argentine.

There have been calls from some pundits, such as Tim Sherwood, to bring back Bielsa, but we do not think that it would happen now.

Carlos Corberan of West Bromwich Albion and Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou are among those who have been strongly linked with the Leeds job.
