David Moyes has shared his thoughts on Tottenham’s tactics and how they sucked West Ham in, just like they did with Everton a number of weeks ago, as he told Sky Sports.
The West Ham boss added that his team ‘dominated the ball’ during their defeat to Spurs, but their counter-attacks are just ’so good’.
Frank Lampard and his Everton side got more than a taste of that at the start of the month when they were thrashed 5-0 in north London.
Whilst the Hammers also walked away empty-handed, they put up a better fight, with Heung-Min Son’s brace being the difference during their 3-1 defeat.
Nonetheless, when talking about Tottenham’s tactics yesterday, Moyes shared how Antonio Conte and his players were ‘dong the same to Everton’ on March 7.
“We hung right in there after going 2-0 down early on,” said Moyes. “Tottenham hadn’t caused us any real problems.
“I saw them doing the same to Everton the other week. Very few opportunities. Everton had the ball. Then they break away, their counter-attack is so good through Kane and Son. They did that to us.
“I think we dominated the ball. I saw Everton do the same to Tottenham. I see them changing little, defending and then counter-attack.”

It didn’t help West Ham’s matters that, on Thursday night, they were taken to extra-time during their Europa League win over Sevilla.
Whilst Spurs played on Wednesday – their 2-0 win over Brighton – they still got that extra rest.
And with West Ham already having a thin squad to deal with, it played a part because they did start the game in a slow fashion.
Either way, this might just be the final nail in the coffin in their quest to secure Champions League football because they are now six points behind fourth-placed Arsenal having also played two games extra.
