Dejan Kulusevski has been speaking to Sky Italia about his start to life at Tottenham, following an 18-month loan move from Juventus in January.
The Sweden international has already made two appearances for Spurs, and he’s now shared what has “surprised” him about Tottenham.
What’s the story?
Well, it seems Kulusevski was taken aback by the intensity of Antonio Conte’s training methods at Hotspur Way.
As quoted by Momentidicalcio.com, the 21-year-old said: “I saw their training, it has surprised me. (It’s like) another sport, faster, more intense, with sprints and physique.”
By the sounds of it, Conte doesn’t give his players a moment of rest on the training ground.
In our view, that’s how it should be.
Tottenham have not looked like a formidable, winning unit for a long time now, and a stern coach like the 52-year-old is exactly what some of the Spurs players need.
As they say – train hard, fight easy.
Tottenham must be patient with Dejan Kulusevski

In our view, Tottenham need to be very patient with Kulusevski.
It must be daunting for a 21-year-old to arrive in a new country at a struggling club, with all eyes on him in expectation.
The fact Kulusevski has made such a big move during a global pandemic also should not be ignored – that will impact on how well he settles.

Clearly, the youngster is also not familiar with training sessions as intense as Conte’s, which is another reason why he should be given time to get up to speed.
If supporters start to make things toxic for Kulusevski after a few poor performances, it would be hugely unfair – there is a very good player in there, but it may take time to see his talents in full flow.
