Patrice Evra has told Paul Merson that Harry Kane would leave for Bayern Munich to ‘win more trophies’ after the Sky pundit questioned why the Tottenham striker would join the German giants.
With 12 months left on Harry Kane’s contract, there has been a lot of transfer talk about his future amid claims that Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern Munich want him on board this summer.
That saw Merson state via Sky Sports’ Instagram that he ‘cannot for the life of me’ see the Tottenham hitman go to Bavaria this summer and help them win the Bundesliga title ‘for the 97th time’.
As things stand, Kane is on 213 Premier League goals, 47 behind Alan Shearer’s all-time record, so you would imagine that if he stayed on during these next few years, then he would break it.
That’s one of the reasons why Merson thinks the 29-year-old shouldn’t leave the Premier League stage because he is within touching distance of creating more history.
But former Manchester United defender Evra disagreed, he suggested in the comments section of Merson’s post that Kane should leave as he wrote the following message.

“I respect you, Paul,” wrote Evra. “But I think he will win more trophies…?”
Tottenham fans would accept any Kane call
If he leaves this summer for a fee, next summer for nothing or he decides to stay, then whatever happens, the Spurs fans will accept and respect whatever he does.
He is already a Tottenham legend, their greatest-ever Premier League player, and for some, their best of all time.
But many accept that Kane’s goal-crazy career now needs to be topped off with trophies and he has to move to another club to achieve that.
