Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react after hearing that Rangers have decided to boycott social media for a week in response to social media abuse.
The Gers will refrain from posting anything on their social channels, to underline the ongoing issue with a lack of accountability from users.
As Glen Kamara told ITV, a number of players are sent abuse following games, often for something as minor as missing a goalscoring opportunity.
By logging off, Rangers have joined Swansea in boycotting social media to raise awareness of the ever-growing problem.
In our view, more teams need to follow suit as soon as possible.
The likes of Twitter and Instagram will have to take notice if some of the biggest accounts on their platforms suddenly disappear.

For example, Manchester United have 25 million Twitter followers – if they made a stand too, it would cause shockwaves.
It might not work unless more and more clubs get involved.
Also, it would be a huge statement if Celtic decided to join their bitter rivals in the quest to end social media users from sending whatever they want, to whoever they want, and facing no consequences.
It must be exhausting for footballers to have horrible comments follow them everywhere.

Arsenal forward Willian even said that he’s now ‘scared‘ to check his phone.
These are sad times – hopefully, others join Rangers and Swansea.
Thankfully, it seems like the Celtic fans on Twitter are in support of their rivals following their decision.
Let’s see what they’ve been saying about the news…
