It isn’t the transfer announcement that Arsenal fans expected – or wanted – to see today, but Tyreece John-Jules has left the club.

Arsenal announced this afternoon that the 20-year-old striker has joined Blackpool on a season-long loan agreement.

He had an excellent spell with Doncaster Rovers in League One last term, netting five goals in 13 starts for the club, having also had a stint with Lincoln City prior to that.

Fans of the Emirates Stadium club are expecting an announcement regarding Ben White’s arrival in a £50 million deal from Brighton & Hove Albion soon, having reportedly had a medical on Wednesday.

With that in mind, you could forgive some Gunners for being underwhelmed about this announcement, but those on the receiving end of the deal are excited.

Here’s how some Blackpool supporters reacted on Twitter:

Massive

If he can stay fit, this could be brilliant for John-Jules.

At 20, it’s vital that he begin playing regular football and hopefully he can do so down at the seaside.

He is clearly too good for Arsenal Under-23 side at this point and a season playing men’s football – as they say – could see him return to London Colney a much better player this time next year.
