Speaking to JOE, Arsenal fan and Hollywood actor, Idris Elba has been discussing how he thinks the Gunners will get on this season.

Elba may be more known for his exploits on the silver screen, but the actor does know a thing or two about football. He once hosted FIFA’s ‘The Best’ awards ceremony, sharing a stage with the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar, while he was also a coach at Soccer Aid this year.

The BAFTA winner is a huge Arsenal fan, and as many Gunners supporters are, he’s feeling very optimistic about this season.

Indeed, the Luther star has actually tipped Arsenal to win the league this year, stating that he thinks they can go all the way after their good start.

What’s been said?

Elba spoke about Arsenal’s title chances.

“I really think that if they keep the energy up in the way we have been playing right now, lots of goals, lots of energy, lots of fitness, I think we can go all the way this season. It’s too early to really predict that, but I feel like when watching them now, the chemistry is good, the fitness levels are good, the creativity is good, and if they can put the goals away, I think they can,” Elba said.

In the race

Arsenal are by no means favourites for the title this term – Manchester City and Liverpool are two of the greatest teams of all-time, but they may well be in the race.

Mikel Arteta’s side are the only team to have won every game this season so far, and another victory against Fulham on Saturday would see momentum and belief grow even more at the Emirates.

Of course, it’s very early to be making these types of calls, but it wouldn’t surprise us one bit if Arsenal did have something to say in the title race this year.
