Allan Saint-Maximin has told Sky Sports that he has fallen in love with Newcastle United during his time at the club so far.
Newcastle signed Saint-Maximin from Nice for £18 million last summer (Sky), and he has quickly become a hugely popular figure at St. James’ Park.
The French winger’s ability in possession has really caught the eye, with the 23-year-old now Newcastle’s most dangerous attacking threat.
And Saint-Maximin says that Newcastle fans’ passion for the game has brought the best out of him.
“They cry a lot, eh? They cry a lot,” he joked. “That is why I feel it. I really love Newcastle because the fans like how I play. This is important for me, you know. It is a really great feeling. That is why I am enjoying it a lot here and I know I can show much better things too.”

Steve Bruce has relied on Saint-Maximin’s speed and skill to get his side up the pitch.
Newcastle tend to defend deep and in numbers, so Saint-Maximin’s ability on the counter is absolutely crucial for them.
The Frenchman has chipped in with three goals and four assists in 21 games across all competitions, which represents a good return for his first season in English football.
Saint-Maximin and Newcastle will be back in action in just under two weeks’ time, with a game against Sheffield United.
