Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has hailed one of Liverpool’s stars as having “special qualities” while talking to the media ahead of the sides’ big game at Anfield on Monday.
The Gunners are unbeaten in all competitions this season but the game against the defending Premier League champions will be their biggest test so far.
Liverpool have been quiet in the transfer window but made a huge statement last week, signing Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich. And the Spaniard is already the talk of the town after playing only once.
Arteta is a big fan of Thiago
Arteta knows Thiago well. The Arsenal boss was a part of Barcelona’s academy, where Liverpool’s latest star made a name for himself before leaving Spain for Munich.
The Arsenal boss was asked about his compatriot and Arteta admitted he’s a big of fan of Thiago.
He said, as reported by Arsenal.com: “I really like him from my time I was in Barcelona. (He’s) a player with incredible personality, great talent (and) special qualities to play in midfield. I think he’s a great signing for Liverpool.”

Thiago is definitely a great signing. The Spaniard was a star in the Champions League final last season, helping Bayern beat PSG to lift the trophy.
Liverpool were undoubtedly the best team in the Premier League last season. The Reds had the Premier League in the bag long before they were crowned champions – but it won’t be as easy this time.
Jurgen Klopp’s rivals have strengthened well in this window. The Reds will have to work even harder to retain the league but, with Thiago at the club, their chances have increased considerably.
