Kevin Campbell told Sky Sports that Daniel Ek potentially buying Arsenal, with a consortium involving three club legends, is a ‘long shot’.

Arsenal supporters have never liked the Kroenke’s, and never will, so any talk of a potential takeover to them is music to their ears.

And with Spotify founder, Ek, recently claiming that he wants to buy Arsenal, aided with reports that he could be joined by three club legends in Patrick Vieira, Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry, it has started to make the fans believe once again.

But another Highbury hero in Kevin Campbell thinks such a move won’t materialise even though it is ‘the dream team’.

“Those Arsenal legends and Mr Ek, an Arsenal supporter, It’s the dream team, isn’t it?” said Campbell. “But I think it’s a real long shot, I really do.

“The Kroenke’s are very wealthy, obviously. They don’t live here in the UK and although there has been a lot of blowback on them, they have a plan for the football club and whether we fans agree to it or not.

They’ve come out and said they are going to be keeping the club and build moving forward. It’s going to be an interesting time.”

The decline of Arsenal football club has been as rapid as Ek’s rise as a multi-billionaire – this is how much the Stockholm-born 38-year-old is worth.

Ek might have the money to put on the table to buy the North London outfit, but if the Kroenke’s don’t want to listen to his music then he isn’t even going to get past first base.

Even with Arsenal sitting tenth in the table, it’s not making the American owners budge, but nor will the Arsenal supporters who showed a glimpse, against Everton last time out, at how powerful their protests can be.
