Speaking on the All To Play for Podcast, Joe Cole has been speaking about Leeds United and their current predicament.

Leeds haven’t had the best of starts to the 2021/22 season. They’ve won just three league games so far, and after being pummelled 7-0 by Manchester City this week, things aren’t looking good for the Whites.

United finished in a very respectable ninth in the Premier League last term, but Cole believes that they’re in serious danger of being relegated this season.

What’s Cole said about Leeds?

Cole said that he’s worried about Leeds’ relegation prospects.

“I think Leeds are in danger. I really do. I watched them against Chelsea and they did well, but we all talk about Bielsa being this genius, but he needs to stop the rot. They can’t play like this when they’re low on confidence, they’re throwing players forward with no real conviction. A big injury list, they don’t defend well, I think Leeds could go,” Cole said.

Big trouble

We have to agree with Cole, Leeds are in big trouble.

Look at the teams around them. Newcastle are the richest club in the world and will strengthen in January, Burnley have been in this position countless times and know how to get themselves out of trouble, while Watford and Norwich have been resurgent in recent weeks.

Leeds are naively continuing to play the same style that has seen them struggle this season so far, and if it continues for much longer, they could well end up sleepwalking towards relegation.
