Cameron Carter-Vickers has expressed his delight on Celtic’s official website after leaving Tottenham Hotspur for the Hoops.

As announced on Celtic’s official website, Carter-Vickers has left Tottenham for good and has moved to the Scottish Premiership champions on a four-year contract.

The 24-year-old spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Celtic from Tottenham.

The USA international centre-back helped the Hoops win the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish League Cup this past campaign.

Carter-Vickers scored four goals and gave one assist in 28 Scottish Premiership matches for Ange Postecoglou’s side this past season.

The defender also played five times in the Europa League, once in the Conference League, three times in the Scottish League Cup, and thrice in the Scottish Cup.

Cameron Carter-Vickers on leaving Tottenham for Celtic

Carter-Vickers told Celtic’s official website: “I am so pleased to complete my move to Celtic and I really could not be happier. I have loved every minute of my time at Celtic so far and I really wanted to be part of the club’s future.

“We have a fantastic group of players at the club, we have a really good spirit and atmosphere among us and we all worked so hard together to deliver the league and League Cup success last season.”

The defender added: “I wanted to make sure I was part of this group going forward and working under a great manager, and now we all want to achieve more.”

Good decision

In our view, Cameron Carter-Vickers has made an excellent decision in leaving Tottenham Hotspur for good and moving to Celtic.

The 24-year-old could not even make a single appearance in the Premier League during his time at Tottenham.

The American clearly did not have a future at Spurs, and we think that he has done the right thing by making his loan deal at Celtic permanent.
