Gary Neville has claimed that Liverpool have the ‘better front players’ than Manchester City, as he told Sky Sports.

The Old Trafford legend added that Liverpool’s attack is better, both as a squad and as a team than their title rivals.

Liverpool are the highest goalscorers in the Premier League this season – 71 goals from their 27 games – three more goals than Pep Guardiola’s men, who have played a game extra, including beating Manchester United 4-1 on Sunday.

That six-point lead the current holders have on their rivals might quickly be wiped out if the Reds continue to do the business and then rock up at the Etihad and pick up all three points in a number of weeks.

Nonetheless, Neville shared his thoughts on Liverpool’s attack compared to Manchester City’s and the ‘world-class’ talent they have on their books.

“Liverpool have, I think, the better front players in their squad and in their team,” said Neville. “I really believe that.

“You look at Mane, Salah, Firmino, Jota, Diaz and Origi. I think there are six players there that really are a massive threat. Three or four of them are out of this world and a couple of them are world-class.

“And that makes them a real threat towards the end of the season.”

From a defensive side of things, there isn’t much in it between the two teams either.

Whilst a number of weeks ago, some felt that Man City were sleepwalking to another title.

Well, Liverpool’s relentless attacking train just hasn’t stopped charging and is taking this two-horse race right until the death.

The signing of Luis Diaz has well and truly elevated the team and it might just prove to be the difference-maker in Jurgen Klopp and his players winning multiple trophies this season.
