Glenn Murray has praised Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez on BBC Sport for his role in Mohamed Salah’s first goal against Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

Liverpool opened the scoring against Tottenham in North London in the 11th minute.

Egypt international forward Mohamed Salah found the back of the net with a brilliant effort from close range.

Nunez, who joined Liverpool in the summer transfer window, provided the assist.

The striker received the ball and then played it to Salah to score.

The Uruguay international striker took a brilliant touch and made the right decision to pass instead of shoot on goal.

And former Brighton and Hove Albion striker and BBC Sport pundit Glenn Murray was impressed.

The pundit has admitted that he questioned Nunez earlier in the match, but he proved him wrong with his assist.

Praise for Darwin Nunez for Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur

Murray said: “I questioned Nunez’s options earlier on in the game but this time he makes the right choice.

“The young Uruguayan take a brilliant touch, he could shoot but he sees that Salah is in a better position. He rolls it to the Egyptian and Salah makes no mistake at all.

“One touch with his right to set himself, a left foot drilled shot into the bottom left hand corner into the bottom of Lloris’ goal. What a swift, clean, brilliant attacking move from Liverpool.”

Salah scored his second goal of the first half in the 40th minute with a wonderful dinked finish.

Liverpool played well in the first 45 minutes, with Nunez working hard and asking questions of the Tottenham defence.
