Albert Sambi Lokonga has told his Arsenal teammate Nuno Tavares on Instagram that he now prefers it when he shoots with his right foot.

The loaned-out Marseille star posted an image from training where he is seen taking a shot with his right foot, added with the caption ‘practise makes perfect’.

A number of Arsenal players, in the comments section, praised Tavares, with Lokonga posting the following message: “I prefer when you shoot with your right now, brother.”

TAVARES FINDS HIS SHOOTING BOOTS

It was a season of huge learning for Tavares last time out because after a great start to his Premier League career, as the campaign wore on things started to go really wrong for the left-back.

There was more responsibility on the 22-year-old’s shoulders because Kieran Tierney was out injured during a key period of the season.

But that’s when Tavares’ inexperience and young age proved to be an issue and he produced a number of problem performances, no more than away at Crystal Palace.

That’s why Mikel Arteta decided to loan out the left-footer during the 2022 summer transfer market and bring in Ukrainian star Oleksandr Zinchenko.

But things are going pretty well for Tavares in Marseille because he has seemingly found his goalscoring boots.

From his eight games in Ligue 1, the Arsenal loanee has scored an impressive three goals for his side.

This is a crucial loan for Tavares because, with the competition for places at the Emirates, he has to improve in order to be part of Arteta’s first-team plans next season.
