Garth Crooks has admitted that he will happily ‘suffer’ Tottenham Hotspur’s football under Jose Mourinho if they produce five-star performances every single week.
Spurs bounced back from a horrible opening-game defeat by Everton in the Premier League by smashing Southampton 5-2 at St Mary’s on Sunday.
There were two heroes in the form of Son Heung-min and Harry Kane.
The Tottenham striker bagged four assists, while Son bagged himself four goals.
And Crooks has admitted that although he’s really not a fan of Mourinho’s philosophy, he’ll shut up if the Portuguese coach’s side replicate that sort of standard on a weekly basis.
Crooks told BBC Sport: “The equaliser by Son Heung-min just before half-time transformed Tottenham’s fortunes against Southampton at St Mary’s. What followed was quite extraordinary. The South Korea international went on to score three second-half goals, with all four superbly assisted by Harry Kane.
“I must admit, I don’t like Jose Mourinho’s style of football – but if he wins matches like that every week, I’ll suffer it.”

The worrying thing for the Lilywhites’ opposition this season is that they scored five goals away to a tough side like Southampton without Gareth Bale in the squad.
Spurs re-signed the Real Madrid attacker on a season-long loan last week and there’s just no telling how much of an attacking force they could be with the electric Welshman, who is expected to be ready after the international break in October.
