Tottenham Hotspur defender Emerson Royal has told Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz on his Instagram story that ‘I miss playing by your side’.
The Aston Villa midfielder is celebrating his 25th birthday (Tuesday) and he was sent well wishes by his fellow countryman.
Tottenham will travel down to the Midlands on Saturday where they will lock horns with Unai Emery’s Villa, as the duo are pushing for Europe during these final few weeks of the campaign.
Ryan Mason’s side recorded a much-needed three points and a clean sheet against Crystal Palace last time out, whilst Villa have suffered back-to-back losses.
Either way, ahead of the game, this is what Emerson Royal posted via his Instagram story to Douglas Luiz on his 25th birthday.
“Congratulations, my brother,” wrote Emerson. “God bless you always. I miss playing by your side.”
WILL SPURS END VILLA’S SEASON?
Whilst Tottenham picked up points on home soil last time out, they are still pretty abject on the road and those opening 20 minutes are going to be tested.
At St James’ Park, they were 5-0 down inside 20 minutes and at Anfield, they were 3-0 down inside 15.
Any more of the same at Villa Park, then they will be taken to the cleaners, but three points for Spurs and it will probably end Villa’s hopes of Europe.
They are three points behind sixth-placed Spurs and one point behind seventh-placed Brighton, who have two games in hand.
