Tottenham star Ivan Perisic has admitted that he slightly misses life at Inter Milan after leaving the Italian giants this summer to reunite with Antonio Conte in north London.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Croatian international revealed that the Nerazzurri will always have a special place in his heart after Perisic spent the good part of seven years of his career with the San Siro side, with the winger winning one Serie A title and one Coppa Italia championship.

Despite success, Perisic opted to leave Inter this summer to join Tottenham under former manager Conte, where the 33-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to life in the Premier League. Though it appears that the winger is missing some aspects of living in Italy and Milan.

Signing a two-year deal worth £178,000-a-week according to the Mirror, Perisic is one of Tottenham’s best-paid players as the Spurs currently sit comfortably in a top-four spot in the league, with the north London side set to travel to Italy in 2023 to face AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League.

Indeed, a San Siro homecoming will be quite the occasion for Perisic. And according to the player himself, he is missing Inter and Italy somewhat after deciding to finally move to the Premier League this summer to play for Conte’s Tottenham.

Perisic said: “I miss Inter and Italy a little bit, they’ll be my home forever. After all, Milan and Italy is the place where I spent the most time in my career. I’ll be back soon for something very important, the Champions League match against Milan is waiting for me.”

Tottenham fans should be concerned by Perisic’s Inter Milan comments

Perisic missing Inter and life in Milan is hardly a surprise given the huge quality of life given to star footballers in the Lombardy city. However, for Tottenham fans, the winger’s comments could be a cause of concern given just how recently the forward decided to swap Italy for England.

After all, it isn’t totally out of the question that Perisic opts to return to Italy with Inter given the nature of transfers under Conte and Fabio Paratici. And for Tottenham supporters, they will be hopeful that the veteran winger remains in north London well past his two-year deal.
