Brian Laudrup told the Daily Mail that he would ‘hate to see’ Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish in the starting XI for England tonight.

England host Denmark at Euro 2020, with a place in the final up for grabs and Villa’s expert ball-carrier hoping for a rare start.

For the small period of time Grealish has pitch, the Villa man has made quite the difference, whether it’s his assist inside 15 minutes against the Czech Republic or his game-changing substitution against Germany.

Grealish is showcasing the flair and natural ball-carrying ability that Laudrup showcased during his playing days and the Denmark legend shared that he loves watching the Villa man in action.

“Being honest, Grealish is the one I’d hate to see from a Danish perspective,” said Laudrup.

“I know he hasn’t been in the starting line-up very often and has had to take a bit of a different role to the one with Aston Villa. But he has the X-factor.

“I love watching him play, although I might not feel the same way on Wednesday.”

Whilst there was a clamour for Grealish to start during the early stages of the tournament, the calls from Gareth Southgate have proven to be correct.

The manner in which he has rotated the England XI, including the forward line, has been brilliant, whether it’s Jadon Sancho, Grealish, Bukayo Saka or Phil Foden starting.

But if Grealish isn’t on that teamsheet from the get-go then England fans know they have his ball-carrying ability and creativity to bring off from the bench.
