Newcastle United fans think that Jetro Willems may have hinted that he is going to re-sign for them.

Willems posted ‘on my way’ on social media last night, sparking plenty of excitement among Newcastle fans.

The Dutch defender spent the first half of last season on loan with the Magpies and seriously impressed, before picking up an injury.

Willems has made no secret of his desire to move to St. James’ Park since.

And plenty of Newcastle supporters feel that his latest tweet may well be teasing that a return to Tyneside is possible.

Willems is currently playing for Eintracht Frankfurt, but appears to have little future with the Bundesliga side.

The £10 million defender (BILD) would enhance Steve Bruce’s options at the back if he was to return, although it is questionable whether Newcastle actually need him now.

Newcastle have already signed Jamal Lewis at left-back this summer, meaning Willems would likely arrive as a back-up, if he was to sign.

It should also be noted that Willems took the words ‘Newcastle United player’ out of his biography on Twitter last night, with the meaning is of his tweet still very unclear.
