Speaking to The Telegraph, Fabio Cannavaro has been speaking about his managerial ambitions and the Everton job.
The Italian wants to manage in Europe, and he claims that he actually spoke to Farhad Moshiri about taking the job at Goodison Park after the departure of Rafa Benitez.
Cannavaro was strongly linked with the vacant Everton job at the time, and now he’s gone on the record to speak about his discussions with Moshiri and how the conversation went.
What has Cannavaro said?
The Italian shared details of his interview with Everton.
“I met the owner [Farhad Moshiri] and he was so clear with me,” he says. “I explained to him my philosophy, my strategy. But of course it’s understandable when you have the opportunity to take Lampard who stays [in England], who knows better than me, maybe, the Premier League,” Cannavaro said.
“Sometimes when people think about me maybe they think that I don’t know the league, that I don’t have experience in Europe but it’s football. I know what is happening in the clubs, in the changing rooms. But, no, I was proud that Everton and Watford, also, asked me to have an interview and I really appreciate that.”

Chance will come
Cannavaro didn’t get the Everton job this time around, but one has to imagine that his chance to manage in the Premier League will come.
Yes, the Italian has only ever managed in Asia, but as a former Ballon d’Or winner, you have to imagine that someone will take a chance on him eventually.
Cannavaro has a massive reputation within the game, and the fact that he could even get an interview with Everton shows that he’ll get his shot at one point.
