Some Everton fans on social media have been reacting after it was reported that Liverpool are on the verge of signing Luis Diaz from Porto.
What’s the story with Diaz?
According to The Athletic, Liverpool are close to bringing the Colombian to Anfield after hijacking Tottenham’s interest in the winger.
So, why do Everton fans care about this?
Well, it’s never nice for an Evertonian to see the Reds strengthen, but this move stings that much more because Diaz was the subject of strong interest from the Toffees in the summer.
Unfortunately for Everton, they couldn’t get the deal over the line, and after a fantastic start to the season with Porto, he’s no seemingly on his way to Liverpool.

This is a real kick in the teeth for Everton.
Diaz looks like he’s going to be an absolute star. He’s netted 12 goals already in the Portuguese League this term, and he really could have been an Everton player if the Toffees had played their cards right in the summer.
Now, he seems destined to join Everton’s biggest rivals, and as you may imagine, the Goodison Park faithful aren’t too happy.
To be honest, this perfectly sums up the ineptitude that has been on show at Everton over the past few years, and for some, this is seemingly the tipping point, with one fan even claiming that he might start supporting a different team.
