Ian Poveda has reacted on Twitter to Leeds United’s latest result.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side offered further evidence that they belong in the Premier League with a fine 1-1 draw with Manchester City at Elland Road last night.
Rodrigo grabbed an equaliser for Leeds on a night where United took the game to the former Premier League champions.
Poveda, who joined the Whites from Man City in January, replaced Ezgjan Alioski at the break and the hosts immediately looked a stronger side.
The 20-year-old gave Benjamin Mendy a torrid time during the second-half, with his pace causing Pep Guardiola’s side all sorts of problems.
Here’s what Poveda wrote on Twitter after the game.
There was an element of luck about Leeds’ equaliser through Rodrigo – his first goal in English football following a £30 million move earlier in the summer – but the Whites were absolutely good value for their point on the balance of play.
If not for a late penalty at Anfield, Leeds, who lost 4-3 that night, would’ve taken a point against the champions too.
It’s no surprise to see Poveda claim to love his Leeds team-mates; neutral fans are starting to develop an affection for them, too.
