Manchester City fans have taken to Twitter to react after Pep Guardiola hit back at Jurgen Klopp’s comments regarding the club’s COVID-19 issues.
As the Guardian relay, the German suggested that the Citizens had two weeks off as a result of their game against Everton being postponed over Christmas.
In truth, the postponement only gave City seven days without a game, again stated by the Guardian.
Klopp was inferring that this mini-break helped fuel City’s rise to the top of the Premier League – they currently sit three points clear with a game in hand.
After being made aware of the Liverpool manager’s comments, Guardiola hit back.

The Spaniard cracked his knuckles before saying: “He made a mistake. Jürgen has to see the calendar again. We had COVID, we had one week and we played with 14 players in Stamford Bridge.
“Tomorrow when I see Jürgen I will ask him how long we had off. I’m surprised, I thought Jürgen was not that kind of manager, I didn’t expect that comment. Maybe it was a misunderstanding.”
Judging by the replies below, the City fans on Twitter loved Guardiola’s response.
In truth, Klopp was pretty inaccurate with his comments about City’s COVID-19 problems.

However, the German could’ve just been playing mind games ahead of what is arguably his side’s biggest game of the season so far.
There is currently a seven-point gap between the two teams, with City, as aforesaid, holding a game in hand.
If Liverpool don’t win, their title hopes will take a huge dent.
Let’s see what the City fans on Twitter have been saying about Guardiola’s response…
