Ian Wright has stated that he ‘loved’ Richarlison’s interview where he criticised Antonio Conte for his lack of game time at Tottenham Hotspur.
This came after Spurs were booted out of the Champions League by AC Milan and the club’s record signing questioned why Conte wasn’t starting him after the game.
Well, on Saturday, with relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest visiting north London, Conte threw Richarlison straight into the starting XI.

And, within minutes, he had the ball in the back of the net, only for the goal to be ruled offside, although he didn’t know it at the time and the call did seem pretty harsh.
But that didn’t stop the 25-year-old from causing havoc because he would go on to win a penalty for Spurs, which was converted by Harry Kane, before supplying Son Heung-min for his side’s third goal of the game in the second half.
All in all, Wright was loving the attitude and fight shown by Richarlison, despite some controversy around it at the time, and how he ‘backed it up’, as he told Premier League Productions (13/03/23 at 2:35 pm).
“He (Richarlison) was very good (against Nottingham Forest),” said Richarlison. “I love that (Richarlison’s comments at Conte) and he backed it up.
“He scored that goal, which was disallowed, it was a great goal.”

RICHARLISON AND CONTE ARE MADE FOR EACH OTHER
The duo are both similar characters and they suit one another, hence why Richarlison was brought in from Everton by Conte during the summer.
Whilst Richarlison has to look at himself regarding his performances this season, it also needs to be remembered that he has only started seven Premier League games prior to this weekend.
Therefore, it’s understandable why the player was frustrated and it can’t be denied that he walked the walk, after talking the talk.
