Emmanuel Petit has shared that he ‘really loves’ the manner in which Liverpool play the game, as he told Stadium Astro.

The Highbury legend added that he is also a ‘big, big fan’ of the brains behind Liverpool’s success, Jurgen Klopp.

After going nearly three decades without being champions of England, Klopp rocked up on Merseyside and changed the fortunes of the club.

Added to being Premier League champions, the German also helped add a sixth European trophy to their jam-packed cabinet.

Now in retirement, Arsenal’s former hard-hitting midfielder likes what he sees from Liverpool, as well as their title rivals, Manchester City.

“In the Premier League, I am a huge fan of players at Manchester City and Liverpool,” said Petit. “To be honest with you, I really love the way Liverpool play.

“I am a big, big fan of Jurgen Klopp. I love that guy. I never met him, but I am pretty sure I would have been happy to have played under his responsibility.

“I love the humility from this guy. This anger to win every single game. You can see physically, he can change every single game. I love Salah. There are so many players I like at Liverpool and Man City.”

When domestic football returns to action this week, both Liverpool and Manchester City are going to lock horns in perhaps the most important month their two managers have ever been involved in.

From their Premier League title tussle at the Etihad to their FA Cup semi-final showdown at Wembley, it’s going to be a number of mouthwatering weeks involving the two.

Man City still have the slight lead in the race for the Premier League title, but Klopp and his players are well aware that winning all their remaining matches hands them the title.

Whilst all of that happens on the domestic stage, there is also the small matter of dealing with their Champions League games also.
