Jeff Stelling and Kris Boyd were involved in a fresh exchange regarding Leeds United during Sky Sports’ coverage of Soccer Saturday.
Prior to Leeds’ defeat at Brighton, the Sky presenter asked Boyd whether the game at the Amex is going to be a ‘home banker’ for Marcelo Bielsa’s ‘overrated’ side – those comments from Stelling come after Boyd’s criticism of the Whites.
The former Scotland striker responded by mimicking and putting a mask of the Soccer Saturday host over his face and saying on a number of occasions ‘I love Leeds’.
Boyd was trying to portray that Stelling is trying to get into the ‘good books’ of Leeds fans by his constant defence of the club.
Nonetheless, prior to Leeds suffering a defeat to Brighton, this is how the exchange went between the two.
“I know you want to concentrate on the last seven minutes of Sheffield Wednesday vs Forest, Chris,” said Stelling.
“But I have to ask you, Brighton against overrated and underachieving Leeds, I am assuming it’s a home banker, do you?”
Boyd responded by pulling out a mask of Stelling’s face and then mimicking the Sky presenter: “I love Leeds. I love Leeds. I love Leeds.
“You are trying to get into their good books,” laughed Boyd.
Stelling then responded: “I don’t need to get into their good books. But you, I tell you what, you are in their black books and will be for many years to come.”

Well, Leeds did end up losing the Brighton encounter, but that doesn’t hide away from the outstanding season they have had.
More than likely, the two teams that Leeds got promoted with, West Brom and Fulham, will be heading back down to the Championship, whilst those in Yorkshire are pushing for a top ten finish.
Leeds are nowhere near the finished article, but one thing is for sure, they are the modern-day entertainers and if they can take yet another step forward then they will be utterly dangerous next season.
