Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left in hysterics after Cristian Romero’s actions while playing for Argentina last night.

Romero’s funny moment

Romero helped his nation a 1-0 win in World Cup qualifying and the Spurs centre-back put in yet another solid display.

That makes it six clean-sheets in a row for Romero while with Argentina.

But it was his reaction to a missed penalty which really created a stir among the Tottenham fan base.

When Peru’s Yoshimar Yotun blazed his spot kick over the bar, Romero charged into the box and celebrated right in the striker’s face.

While the action may not have been the most sporting, it certainly showed the Tottenham new boy’s passion.

And Spurs fans seemed to enjoy the way that Romero responded to the wayward shot.

Missing for the weekend?

The problem for Tottenham is that Romero’s full involvement in last night’s match means that he is set to miss their game this weekend.

Spurs are due to take on Newcastle United on Sunday, but Romero’s limited rest time surely puts his involvement in doubt.

That could mean that Nuno has to line up with Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez as his central defensive pairing at St. James’ Park, as the Colombian did not feature for his country at all yesterday.
