Jose Enrique has stated that Liverpool are making the right call to reject a possible transfer deal for Brighton forward Leandro Trossard, as he posted on Instagram.
The former Liverpool left-back added that he ‘loves’ Leandro Trossard as a player, but it’s just simply not a position Jurgen Klopp needs to address ahead of the January transfer window opening.
After making a U-turn on signing a midfielder during the summer, the Reds secured a loan deal for Arthur Melo from Juventus on transfer deadline day, only for the player to get injured and only play 76 minutes of football since.

That midfield was a problem area before Arthur Melo entered the building, it’s still an issue now and it’s an area that might need two new faces in the winter.
If those on Merseyside are to add to their forward line, then Enrique thinks it’s a left-footed player to cover for Mo Salah, but definitely not Trossard.
“Do you agree with this decision?” asked Enrique. “I love him as a player, but I don’t believe it’s a position that we need to strengthen.
“We need to focus more in the midfield area and maybe a left-footed right winger as well.”
TROSSARD TO STEP UP?
Even if it’s not Liverpool that will sign Trossard, one thing is for sure, he is heading to a club in Europe by next summer.
The Belgium international, who has seven Premier League goals to his name this season, is out-of-contract at Brighton in less than 12 months and there aren’t any signs that he will sign a new deal.
At the age of 27, playing the best football of his career, this is the time for Trossard to step up and take that next step in his career.
