Sebastian Salazar has hailed the leadership qualities of Leeds United midfielder, Tyler Adams, despite the USA’s recent defeat to Japan in an international friendly, as he told ESPN.

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic is the captain of his country, but Salazar was full of praise for how Adams talks like he is the ‘captain’ because he loves the way the 23-year-old conducts himself.

Whilst Leeds lost a key figure in Kalvin Phillips during the 2022 summer transfer window, it remains to be seen, during these coming months, if Adams can fill the Manchester City player’s shoes.

But, one thing is for sure, the new man through Leeds’ doors is a far better leader and vocal figure than the ‘Yorkshire Pirlo’.

Adams is, once again, proving that to be the case on national duty because, despite a morale-sapping defeat to Japan, he was hailed by his own media for his reaction to that loss.

It seems as though Adams has had these leadership qualities in his locker since he was a teenager, as ESPN pundit Salazar explained.

“Can I just say this, I love Tyler Adams,” said Salazar. “That kid, from the time he was 16 and talking like he was the captain, every time he just says exactly what you want to hear.”

ADAMS WILL PROVE TO BE A TOP PURCHASE

When the season ends, debates will rage up and down the country as to which players have been the best signings across the Premier League.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if someone like Adams is on that list because, in terms of his quality and his character, both on and off the pitch, he is a pretty impressive individual.

However, the hard-hitting player is going to need help from his teammates around him because Jesse Marsch’s side have started the new Premier League season in an indifferent manner.

But a lot of that down is to the team still trying to find its feet, getting used to Marsch’s tactics and the new players getting used to one another.
