Andros Townsend has told Stadium Astro that Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy will not sell Harry Kane to another English club.
The former Tottenham winger has said that having worked with Levy at the North London club, he knows that the English businessman would rather sell his best players to a foreign side for less money than strengthen a Premier League rival.
Kane has been the subject of intense speculation in recent days, with Spurs in danger of not finishing in the Premier League top four.
The Athletic has claimed that the 27-year-old striker will push for a move away from Spurs if the club do not finish in the Champions League places this season.
Manchester City and Manchester United are interested in the England international striker, according to The Independent, as covered by HITC Sport.
Crystal Palace winger Townsend believes that Spurs chairman Levy will not sell Kane to City or any other Premier League club.
The Englishman said on Stadium Astro regarding a potential move for Kane to City: “Having worked under a chairman like Daniel Levy, I know this, no way on this earth that he is selling Harry Kane to a Premier League rival for less than double the price. For me, I think that ends the debate.”
While recollecting Luka Modric’s transfer to Real Madrid despite Chelsea’s interest back in 2012, Townsend said: “He doesn’t want to strengthen a rival. He would rather take less money and have one of his best players go overseas than take 30 odd million and make one of his rivals even better and make that team go further away from Spurs.”

Harry Kane to stay at Tottenham Hotspur?
Kane has been at Tottenham his entire professional club football career so far, and it is unlikely that the Englishman will force a move away.
Spurs will not sell the striker on the cheap. Tottenham chairman Levy does have the upperhand in this situation.
