Sky Sports reported last week that Harry Kane reiterated his desire to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Manchester United and Manchester City have both been linked with a move for the Spurs hitman, who finished as the Premier League’s top goalscorer with 23 this past season.

But Sky Sports have also claimed that Chelsea are in the reckoning and considering they are Tottenham’s fierce London rivals, a move to Stamford Bridge wouldn’t go down well with many – if any – Lilywhites supporters.

The Blues are in the market for a classic number nine who guarantees goals and have also been touted with a big-money move for Erling Haaland.

And former Tottenham goalkeeper Kasey Keller has told ESPN that signing the Tottenham marksman would instantly make Chelsea realistic candidates to win next season’s Premier League title, but doubted whether Daniel Levy and Roman Abramovich could see eye to eye in negotiations.

He said: “I know Abramovich has an issue with Daniel Levy. I know a lot of people have an issue with Daniel Levy.

“But there’s a point where business has to come first and obviously Harry Kane is in that conversation with the Lewandowskis of the world that are consistently scoring goals. He’s doing it for Tottenham. Harry Kane would make Chelsea a contender straight away but the question is can egos get out of the way and can the right price be struck?”

It was reported by Eurosport last week that Levy would be looking for around £200 million to sell Kane, who has three years left on his contract.

Tottenham would hate to lose him – especially to Chelsea – but we also know that money talks and given Levy’s record of getting maximum value out of the club’s assets, it isn’t unthinkable for Spurs to get that fee.
