David Ornstein has told Sky Sports News that Arsenal’s Edu and Mikel Arteta are already selling an exciting project to potential additions.
Arsenal have apparently already submitted their transfer plans to the board and the club are making moves ahead of schedule to try and tie down players.
Ornstein says that he has been in contact with some players that Arsenal are trying to sign, and the word he is getting is that the proposals are very impressive.
“I know with Arsenal they [the transfer plans] have already been submitted by Edu and Mikel Arteta to the board of directors and they are very clear in what they want to do,” Ornstein began.
“Whether they will be able to do it will depend on the finance which is made available by the owners and whether they will be able to attract players.
“I know of a number of players Arsenal have made proposals to, very attractive, and they do have a plan to get back into the big time.
“Edu & Arteta are selling an impressive project to potential recruits but many of those players have ambitions to play in the Champions League or at least the Europa League so they are not considering those proposals at this point.”
That news will be encouraging to Arsenal supporters, but Ornstein’s comments do show how important making it into Europe could be.

Arsenal have an outside chance of qualifying for the Europa League if they can beat Brighton & Hove Albion on the final day and other results go in their favour.
If the Gunners do manage that then they may well find that many of their targets are attainable.
But the club do at least appear to be planning to be ambitious in the transfer window.
Arteta has always spoken about a long-term project at Arsenal, but after a disappointing season this time around, he will be under pressure to get his recruitment right this summer.
