Jose Mourinho has refused to stoke the flames ahead of Liverpool’s match with Manchester United this weekend at his latest press conference, which was broadcast by Hayters TV.
Liverpool are set to take on United in arguably the biggest game of the Premier League season so far on Sunday.
In the build up to the game much discussion has been raised over United’s penalty record this season, which has seen them awarded the most spot kicks in the league.
United striker Marcus Rashford stated that the tactic of winning penalties was first brought to his attention by Mourinho.
But the Spurs boss was not about to give any headline grabbing quotes before Sunday’s clash in response to the striker’s comments.
He said: “First of all, Liverpool v Manchester United is a big match that doesn’t need me to make it bigger, or need me to do any headlines before such a big match that I know means so much to both clubs and supporters.
“I will leave comments for later. If you feel the need to write something about it, do it in a very simple way – stats. Go to Opta. Compare numbers and take your conclusions.”

Liverpool’s game against United has become bigger as the Red Devils have overtaken Jurgen Klopp’s men in recent weeks.
Spurs boss Mourinho is also likely to be looking at goings on with Anfield with intrigue as, despite some disappointing results, Tottenham still only sit six points off the top of the league themselves.
