The January transfer window is only a couple of months away and the rumours are beginning for Tottenham Hotspur, it seems.

According to 90 Min, Spurs are interested in signing the Cruz Azul winger.

The 24-year-old joined the Mexican outfit for £10 million in 2019 after turning down a move to Manchester City.

And Tottenham reportedly view Pineda – who can play on either wing – as an upgrade for Lucas Moura.

Here’s how fans of the North London club are reacting to the rumour on Twitter:

If Tottenham do make funds available in January, a winger probably shouldn’t be the top priority.

We’re talking about a team who conceded three goals to West Ham United in the space of eight minutes last month, earning the visitors a 3-3 draw in North London.

Jose Mourinho has some blinding attacking players but there’s no getting away from the fact that their defence is shaky at the best of times.

There’s nothing wrong with signing Pineda in January, but somebody of his profile absolutely shouldn’t be the priority.
