Ian Wright has said on Optus Sport’s ‘The Kelly and Wrighty Show’ that he would love to see Yves Bissouma join Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
The Arsenal legend believes that Bissouma would be the perfect partner to Arsenal star Thomas Partey in the middle of the park.
However, the former England international striker has said that for Arsenal to bring in the 24-year-old Mali international from Brighton and Hove Albion to the Emirates Stadium, they need to be playing in Europe next season.
Wright said on Optus Sport’s ‘The Kelly and Wrighty Show’, as transcribed by The Mirror: “You need someone next to Partey of real calibre. People keep mentioning Bissouma, if only. Someone like Bissouma, but Arsenal have to be in European competition.
“We need that player next to him, we want to play out the back – get it to Partey, and have that solidity of Partey and – I know I’m dreaming, but Bissouma – to get the people to a player like [Martin] Odegaard, if he stays. A massive if.”

Arsenal speculation
Bissouma has actually been linked with a move from Brighton to Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Football.London reported earlier this month that a close friend of the Brighton midfielder has said that he would choose Arsenal over any other Premier League club.
The Express reported in March that Arsenal are interested in signing the 24-year-old midfielder from Premier League rivals Brighton.
The report claimed that ‘Bissouma has also been the subject of several lines of enquiry from the Gunners’.
