Liverpool talent Rhian Brewster has a fan in Jadon Sancho it seems.
Rhian Brewster can’t stop scoring for Liverpool in pre-season at the moment.
The 19-year-old was on the scoresheet for the Reds again on Saturday morning as Jurgen Klopp’s side lost 3-2 to Borussia Dortmund.
Brewster, from the penalty spot, stepped up and drilled into the top right-hand corner from 12 yards on 75 minutes for what was only a consolation goal for Liverpool.
In doing so, the Melwood gem bagged his fourth goal of the off-season and it seems like the teenager – who missed well over a year through injury – is making up for lost time and showing Klopp what he can do.
Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is a man who knows exactly how good Brewster is, having played alongside him for England Under-17s.
“He is a great player. I played with him a lot for England and he scored a lot of goals for us and I have assisted him! It’s a good thing for us to have someone like him,” the 19-year-old Londoner told ESPN.
“I feel like he is at the right club, he is developing and he is still so young. Just give him the time and patience and you will see. I know how good he is. He causes defenders nightmares.”
Brewster is set for a massive season at Liverpool.
Instead of signing a replacement for the released Daniel Sturridge, Klopp is set to promote the youngster to the senior set-up, where he’ll challenge Divock Origi and Roberto Firmino for first-team chances.
He hasn’t even made a competitive debut for the newly-crowned European champions as of yet but, if he continues in this vein, he is guaranteed to make his highly-anticipated bow this season.
