Danny Rose ended his lengthy Tottenham Hotspur career this summer.
The England international spent 14 years on Spurs’ books but was released in June.
Rose spent the last year of his spell frozen out of the senior squad under Jose Mourinho after failing to secure a permanent move to Newcastle United last summer.
When he left, the 31-year-old looked moist under the eyes as he delivered a farewell message to fans of the North London club.
These days, 14 years is one hell of a commitment to the same club.
Rose often made headlines for his rebellious nature and was filmed having a number of frank conversations with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy during the Amazon documentary last year.
But Graham Roberts claims that the pair have a very good relationship and believes that the former Leeds United youth could return to Hotspur Way in some capacity down the line.
Sooner than expected
Well, Rose is returning to the Lilywhites very, very soon – but as an opponent.
He joined Watford after leaving North London and as luck would have it, the Hornets’ next game is a trip to Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.
Rose impressed on his debut for the club in an EFL Cup win over Crystal Palace in midweek – and a full Premier League bow now looks very likely.
If he does start on Sunday, no doubt the home support will give him a rousing and warm welcome on his return to the club that got the very best years of his career.
