Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Illan Meslier has been talking about Hugo Lloris and the inspiration he draws from the Spurs goalie.
Lloris has been one of the best goalkeepers in the world for over a decade now. He’s a World Cup-winning captain and he’s been one of Spurs’ most consistent players for years.
Meslier says that he studies Lloris’ game looking for ways in which he can improve.
What’s been said?
Meslier was full of praise for Lloris.
“I would choose Hugo Lloris, he’s been at Tottenham for almost 10 years, which is nice, he’s been under so many managers and he’s still in the goal and the number one in the French team. I keep watching his game because he’s a good inspiration. He’s a very good goalkeeper on the line and he has brilliant reflexes,” Meslier said.

Great role model
If Meslier goes on to have a career even half as good as Lloris’ he’ll have done well for himself.
Yes, the Spurs stopper hasn’t won any domestic trophies since joining Tottenham 10 years ago, but he’s played an insane amount of Premier League football, and he’s one of the most-capped international players of his generation.
Meslier can learn a lot from Lloris, and it’s great to hear that the youngster is being so studious.
Meslier is well on his way to becoming the next great French goalie.
