BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson has had his say on the upcoming FA Cup Fourth Round clash between Wolves and Norwich City.

The all-Premier League affair at Molineux will kick off at 3pm on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts are favourites coming into the tie as they are eighth in the top flight, while the visitors are way back in 17th, just one point outside the relegation zone.

Bruno Lage’s side have won five of their last six matches in all competitions, triumphing at Old Trafford in the league and sweeping aside Sheffield United 3-0 in the previous round of the cup.

However, Dean Smith’s Norwich are much improved from the team that struggled badly during the early stages of the season under Daniel Farke and they’ve won three of their last four.

They knocked out Charlton in the third round and then lost at West Ham before downing both Everton and Watford, and Lawrenson fancies them to emerge victorious from this one.

Lawro drops Wolves vs Norwich FA Cup verdict

‘Wolves are having a great season in the Premier League but I just wonder how seriously their manager Bruno Lage will take the FA Cup, given they have a chance of making the top six,’ he wrote [BBC Sport].

‘Norwich’s priority is obviously to stay up but their form had just started to improve before the season paused last month. When you are struggling, winning games is a healthy habit to keep whatever the competition.’

He then added a scoreline prediction of 1-0 to the Canaries.

While all football fans enjoy a cup run, as Lawro noted, Norwich’s clear priority over the coming months is securing Premier League survival.

If Wolves do field a weakened side for this one, though, the Canaries are certainly in the kind of form that should allow them to capitalise.

Despite the gap between the two sides in the league table, this one could go either way.
