Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips hopes that Leeds United survive in the Premier League.

Kalvin Phillips has said on Sky Sports News (6:02pm, May 21, 2023) that he has been keeping an eye on Leeds United all season after leaving the West Yorkshire club for Manchester City last summer.

The England international midfielder has just won the Premier League title with City.

Meanwhile, Leeds are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

Sam Allardyce’s side lost to West Ham United in the Premier League today.

Leeds are now third from bottom in the Premier League table with 31 points from 37 matches.

The Whites are two points behind Everton, who are currently 17th.

Leicester City are second from bottom with 36 points, but the Foxes have played 30 games.

Leeds will take on Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road on the final day of the Premier League season.

The Whites simply have to win against Spurs and hope that results elsewhere go in their favour.

It has been a really tough season, and it now looks very likely that the West Yorkshire club will end up in the Championship for the next campaign.

However, Phillips is staying positive about his former club.

Phillips said: “I have been keeping eye on Leeds all season, to be honest.

“Obviously, it was not a great result today, but I just pray to God they get a good result in the last game and hopefully keep that great club in the Premier League.”
