Paul Merson is tipping old club Arsenal to maintain their form when Liverpool visit North London on Sunday.
The Gunners have been the Premier League’s best team this season, evident by the fact that they’re top of the standings ahead of welcoming the Reds to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal have won seven of their first eight games of the campaign and Liverpool, in contrast, have only won two out of seven.
There’s no doubt that Mikel Arteta’s outfit are in a much better moment than their Merseyside counterparts right now.

And Merson believes that Arsenal will continue marching on with another victory this weekend.
He told Sportskeeda: “I just fancy Arsenal, but I’m not as confident as I was against Tottenham. There was no way Arsenal were going to lose that game, I’m not as sure with this one as it represents a different test for the table toppers.
“This is a massive game for the Gunners and could be one of the biggest tests of Arteta’s managerial career so far. Arsenal 2-1 Liverpool”
Arsenal have a dreadful record against Liverpool in recent years.
But honestly, Merson is probably right in fancying his former club here.
Jurgen Klopp’s side picked up a midweek win over Rangers in the Champions League, but the German tweaked his formation and he could do the same again in North London.
There’s just a lot more stability at Arsenal right now and few would be surprised to see a home victory.
Then again, these are the same players who nearly won four competitions last season and therefore nobody – not least Arteta – will be writing off the Reds.
