Speaking on The Guardian’s Football Weekly Podcast, Nedum Onuoha has been discussing Gabriel Jesus amid his ongoing goal drought.

The Brazilian has now failed to score in any of his last seven games, but with Arsenal in brilliant form, he’s not come under all that much scrutiny.

Onuoha was quick to note just how much Jesus brings to this Arsenal team, and he thinks that the goals will eventually start flowing soon.

In fact, the pundit went as far as to say that he’s sure that Jesus will be scoring plenty of goals in training, stating that there isn’t much to worry about here.

Jesus’ training goals

Onuoha gave his verdict on Jesus’ lack of goals.

“You know his value, but he doesn’t necessarily always get a goal or an assist. It seems weird to say that he’s a good player because he works hard, but he works differently to other people. His physicality is there, his movement is sharp and he draws players out,” Onuoha said.

“Maybe he is concerned because he probably likes scoring goals I imagine, but as it stands I think his goals will come and he will overcome it, the bigger problem would be if he wasn’t scoring goals in training as well, but I imagine he is doing just fine so I won’t buy into that too much just yet.”

Not lost confidence

Jesus hasn’t been scoring lately, but he hasn’t lost any confidence on the pitch.

He’s still playing in his unique way, he’s running as hard as ever, getting into good positions and setting up chances.

He grabbed himself two assists last weekend, and while he could do with grabbing a couple of goals soon, as long as he’s playing like this, Arsenal will keep winning games.

As for his performances in training, it’s hard to imagine that he isn’t bagging goals behind the scenes at London Colney on a daily basis.
