Lukasz Fabianski has suggested that he could renew his West Ham contract beyond 2022. With the keeper’s deal set to expire next summer.

In an interview with Polish publication Meczyki, the Hammers fan favourite subtly hinted that discussions have already taken place behind the scenes at West Ham over a potential extension of his contract.

Fabianski has retained the number one spot this season despite the summer arrival of Alphonso Areola. The former Polish international has started every Premier League game this campaign, keeping three clean sheets.

Moreover, with West Ham continuing to soar up the table under David Moyes, it makes sense why Fabianski could be thinking about renewing his contract with the club. And according to the veteran shot-stopper, talks are already ongoing.

The West Ham star said: “From what I know, there have been some initial discussions already taking place. I hope that we will come to a good solution for both sides. I do not see any reasons for it to be otherwise.”

Fabianski added about his contract: “Of course, the most important thing in all this is health and sports level. If I can manage these aspects, I see no problem in extending the contract.”

Successive European finish should Fabianski new West Ham contract

With West Ham once against flourishing in the Premier League under Moyes, discussion of a second European finish in the standings is well and truly a possibility. And if the Irons manage to achieve it, Fabianski more than deserves a new contract.

Whilst the Polish star might not be the club’s first-choice keeper next season, Fabianski has been key to getting West Ham where they are now under Moyes. And one more year competing in Europe would be a perfect ending for one of the club’s best-performing players.
