Santos are hopeful of a “happy ending” to the Kaio Jorge story as fears grow about the future of the reported Arsenal target, sporting director Jorge Andrade has told Radio Bandeirantes, translated by UOL.
Time is running out – and fast.
The so-called ‘new Neymar’ is out of contract on 31 December. And Santos know if they can’t tie Jorge down to a new deal in the near future, they will have no choice but to sell the Samba starlet in the summer transfer window.
Roma, AC Milan and Juventus have been linked.
Calciomercato, meanwhile, reports Mikel Arteta’s Premier League giants Arsenal want to see Jorge link up with fellow Brazilians Willian, Gabriel Martinelli, David Luiz and Gabriel Magalhaes at the Emirates.
“There is a year left to the end (of his contract),” Andrade explains.
“If the contract ends, he leaves for free and the club is left only with the right to a ‘training compensation’ fee.

“But I have a lot of faith and hope we will have a happy ending in this story.”
According to UOL, Santos have agreed to let Jorge go this summer – a stance the player and his family are more than happy with.
There’s still hope, however, that Jorge will put pen to paper on a new deal.
That would allow Santos to demand a sizeable fee for a player whose £18 million price tag falls with every day that goes by.
