Pablo Hernandez clearly had a massive impact at Leeds United.
The Spanish magician’s five-year spell as a Whites player came to an end this past summer when the player left Elland Road on a Bosman.
Hernandez, who is now 36, left Leeds to return to Spain, signing for third-tier Spanish side Castellon, where he began his career.
Having scored the goal which sealed United’s promotion back to the Premier League after a 16-year absence, Hernandez won’t forget about his time in West Yorkshire anytime soon.
And Leeds fans won’t let him.
That’s because the former Swansea City playmaker’s wife has claimed on Twitter that dozens of Whites supporters are expected to be at the game today, with Castellon facing off against Barcelona B.
Hernandez was as classy as they come on the pitch and off it, he seems a diamond too.
That’s because not only are Castellon his boyhood club, but Hernandez helped the club out financial amid insolvency concerns four years ago and to this day remains a shareholder.
So much of his time at Leeds was the stuff of fairytales and it’s lovely that he’s continuing to live one back in his homeland.
