Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, Tony Adams has shared what he’s heard about Harry Kane in the England camp.
The Arsenal legend knows a thing or two about captaining England, and while he says he’s not a fan of Kane being the skipper due to the fact he’s a striker, he says he’s heard that he’s a great leader who gets everyone going.
What’s been said?
Adams was asked what he thought about Kane being the captain as a striker, to which he replied:
“I’m not a fan to be honest with you, but he’s a perfect role model, he’s a great mentor, the players do look up to him and there’s a lot to do with off the pitch as well,” Adams said.
“I hear around the dressing room and around the place he’s a good leader, he’s inclusive and he gets the boys going. This squad doesn’t seem to have any problems.”

Perfect captain
Kane is the perfect England captain right now.
He’s the best player, he’s a great leader and he’s a model professional.
Yes, some players such as Jordan Henderson or Harry Maguire may have more of a reputation for leading, but at international level you want someone who will set an example in the way they play, and Kane is that man.
Fingers crossed we see Kane lift a bit of silverware with England as captain before his career is over.
