Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has been discussing Tottenham’s ownership structure amid ENIC’s £150m cash injection into the club.
Spurs’ owners have pumped a serious amount of money into the club, and interestingly, if Tottenham choose to spend that money, ENIC’s stake in the club will increase.
However, while ENIC’s majority share may be set to increase, Gold says that he’s still hearing murmurs that the club could be sold within the next 12 months.
What’s been said?
Gold spoke about Spurs and the future of their ownership.
“So yeah, in essence if Spurs use or take across that £150m for use, ENIC get more of the club under their control, and the reason that is a big thing is if they choose to sell it. Because they would own more of it and be able to get more out of any potential deal,” Gold said.
“The club will always deny it and say that there’s no intention to sell, but I hear little noises, I hear talk that potentially they could choose to sell within the next year because from a financial point of view it’s probably peak value as a club.”

Perfect timing
If ENIC are to sell Spurs within the next 12 months they will be getting out at the perfect time.
The new stadium is in place, the squad is as strong as it ever has been, they have a first-class manager in place and, perhaps most importantly, Chelsea’s recent sale has set a precedent.
Indeed, the Blues were sold to Todd Boehly for £4.25bn, and while Tottenham haven’t been as successful as Chelsea in recent years, but their facilities are much better and their future is looking just as bright.
ENIC may not get a better chance to make a huge profit on their investment.
