Harry Redknapp stated that his belief that Tottenham can win the Premier League title this season has become ‘stronger’, as he told his own podcast.
Before a ball was kicked in the Premier League this season, Redknapp boldly backed Spurs to surprise many by being the team to win the title outside of Liverpool and Manchester City.
Given the unique circumstances this season, it does seem as though it is boiling up for someone to shock the world.
And whilst some have questioned Jose Mourinho’s style at Tottenham this season, Redknapp made it clear that his opinion isn’t changing.
“I do think they have a team there now,” said Redknapp. “I tipped them to win the league.
“I did a programme for Sky, the transfer deadline day programme, and I actually said that if anyone is going to win the league outside of Manchester City and Liverpool this year then Tottenham are definitely the team.
“I haven’t changed my opinion. It’s gone stronger. I think they could be very close this year Tottenham.”

Spurs are sitting fifth in the Premier League table and are five points behind new leaders Leicester City, who beat Chelsea last night.
It’s a real titanic battle for the main prize, and the way it’s heading, it may result in three or four teams still charging for the top during the final few weeks of the campaign.
With Mourinho at the helm, Spurs are always going to be competing, it’s just a case of getting over that dotted line and if he does then it would perhaps be his greatest ever achievement.
