Tottenham Hotspur take on Borussia Dortmund this evening.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told Football.London that he isn’t sure whether forward Son Heung-min will start against Borussia Dortmund just yet.
Spurs made the short trip to face rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon, and despite entering the game as favourites, Tottenham fell flat in the North London derby.
Goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez handed the Gunners a 2-0 victory, and whilst Spurs have been heavily criticised for their performance in that game, they have a chance to quickly turn things around.
Tottenham travel to Germany this evening to take on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, having already clinched their passage through to the next round of the competition.
A win would take Spurs another step closer to sealing top spot in their group, and Pochettino will hope to hit back instantly with a victory, especially having beaten Dortmund 3-1 at Wembley Stadium back in September.
Pochettino may have to rotate some of his side having only played on Saturday though, and one player who will hope to feature is forward Son Heung-min, who enjoyed a superb time in Germany with Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen.
Son, who has hit three goals in all competitions this season, played just 15 minutes against Arsenal despite hitting the winner against Crystal Palace before the international break, and may be looking to feature tonight.
Ahead of the game, manager Pochettino has discussed the situation, telling Football.London that Son has a chance to start, but he hasn’t yet decided whether the South Korean international will feature from the off.
“He has a chance,” said Pochettino. “I don’t know if he’ll be in the starting 11 or from the bench. I haven’t decided. We played on Saturday and Dortmund played Friday. We have one day less. We need to assess everyone and decide,” he added.
